B2Sell eSeller – B2B Website Case Study

Background

A leading manufacturer and distributor of electrical circuit breakers and related products had customers across North America that were placing orders through manually created Purchase Orders and they were looking for a solution that would provide online ordering capabilities for their B2B customers.

The Challenge

The ability for online ordering of circuit breakers cannot be made available to all customers due to certain limitations within that industry so the functionality of the website needed to work differently for various user groups based on their login. They also required a multi-tier quoting process to be included within the same website.

The manufacturer had a old website that was outdated and were looking to replace the entire website which would contain static HTML pages along with the web catalog.

Solution

B2Sell proposed a solution using B2Sell eSeller which would allow the manufacturer to replace their old website with all the required functionality.

Website user roles were defined using B2Sell Central allowing ordering capabilities only for limited customers and based product level attributes only certain products were allowed for online ordering. This provided the company the options to create different product groups and customer groups with different capabilities for each of them.

The inventory and pricing of products was shown in real time with direct integration to Epicor Prophet 21 ERP. This allowed customers to view product availability and place orders on demand.

Result

Using B2Sell solutions the manufacturer has been able to provide a customized B2B website for their users and they have been able to greatly simplify the ordering process thereby increasing sales and revenue.
