A leading manufacturer and distributor of telecom and networking products wanted a B2B portal for their customers to place orders and look up past orders and invoices. Customers should be able to see live pricing based on their login and see available inventory before placing an order.
Customers logging in to the portal needed to have different capabilities based on their profile, certain users cannot place orders only view product data and other users could not see live price or inventory. The design of the new portal had to mimic their main website to provide users a seamless browsing experience.
The company had an existing portal that they were looking to replace along with migration of existing users and their profile.
B2Sell proposed a solution using B2Sell eSeller which would allow the manufacturer to replace their old website with all the required functionality.
Website user roles were defined using B2Sell Central allowing ordering capabilities only for limited customers and based on product level attributes only certain products were allowed for online ordering. This provided the company the options to create different product groups and customer groups with different capabilities for each of them.
The inventory and pricing of products was shown in real time with direct integration to Epicor Prophet 21 ERP. This allowed customers to view product availability and place orders on demand.
Customers can use the My Account section to view past orders, invoices and their credit limit. Reordering from past orders allowed customers to make quick purchases.
